No agreement on meetİng of Azerbaİjanİ, Armenİan presİdents İn New York, says PA offİcİal
APA. There was no noticeable progress in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the first half of 2015, Novruz Mammadov, the deputy head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, chief of the Administration’s Foreign Relations Department, told reporters on July 24.
Though certain steps were taken, there is no result, Mammadov said. “That is why the co-chairs visited the region. They demonstrated will to bring the presidents and foreign minister together. However, the Azerbaijani president stated that he is ready to meet but not for the sake of meeting.”
Mammadov mentioned that there is still no agreement on the meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents in New York. “The co-chairs intend to bring the presidents together. I cannot say that it will take place in September, October, or November”, he added.
Azerbaijan sooner or later will return its lands, the PA official said.
“The Greeks says that God punishes anyone by getting his mind. Probably God has got the minds of the Armenian leadership. Armenians should be divided into two parts. Nearly seven million Armenians live a comfortable life in different countries, over one million serve out their punishment. If Armenia didn’t put forward claims when it won independence, now they would have lived comfortably in Azerbaijan too”, Mammadov added.
