Presİdent Ilham Alİyev: Terrorİsm – İntegral part of Armenİa’s occupatİon polİcy agaİnst Azerbaİjan
APA. Azerbaijan is a country affected by terrorism which is an integral part of the Armenian occupation policy against the country, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
President Aliyev addressed the discussions on combating terrorism and refugee crisis held during the working dinner on Nov.15 hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in honor of heads of state and government and international organizations participating in the G20 Summit.
More than 2,000 Azerbaijani citizens were killed as a result of terror attacks committed by Armenian terrorist organization in Azerbaijan, the president noted.
President Aliyev said that Azerbaijan continues its active participation in the fight against international terrorism and was one of the first countries to join the operations of coalition forces in Afghanistan.
Touching upon the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories, the head of state said that 20 percent of the Azerbaijani territories has been occupied as a result of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan.
Armenia carried out a policy of ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijan, the president said, noting that as a result of the occupation, Azerbaijan faced a humanitarian disaster and about a million compatriots were forced to displace from their native lands.
President Ilham Aliyev went on to add that Armenia continues to ignore the UN Security Council resolutions which demand immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of all Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories.
Armenia's failure to honor the resolutions adopted by the world’s leading organization is a very serious problem according to the president.
The head of state emphasized that the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved only in accordance with the norms of international law and within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
