APA. On the one hand, Russia is serving as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group. On the other hand, we accept that each country has the right to supply weapons to other country. The note of protest, recently sent to Russia, says that while supplying weapons to Armenia, Russia should prevent the transfer of this ammunition to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan,” Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said in an interview to "Kommersant" newspaper.
The minister noted that the “end user” rule is applied in this type of supplies. “If the end user had been Armenia, the issue would not have gone beyond the bilateral ties between Moscow and Yerevan. However, when the weapons show up in Azerbaijan’s occupied lands, wholly different issue arise,” he said.
According to the Azerbaijani FM, Russian weapons’ presence in Karabakh is illogical, as Moscow supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. “Subsequent statements from Moscow confirmed that the tone of the note which we had presented to the Russian Foreign Ministry was fair,” he stressed.
