He made the remarks at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministersdedicated to the results of socioeconomic development in the first quarter of 2016 and objectives for the future.
The solution of the conflict is very simple – Armenian armed forces should withdraw from the occupied territories and Azerbaijani citizens should return to their native lands, President Aliyev stressed.
The principle of peoples' self-determination shouldn't lead to violation of countries' territorial integrity, President Aliyev stressed.
“We are protecting our lands and don’t claim to the territory of another state,” the president said. “We won't allow the establishment of a second Armenian state in Azerbaijan's territories.”
Azerbaijan's president pointed out that following the bloody clashes, the international community expressed concern over the issue and heads of theOSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries issued statements, calling for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
“We have repeatedly stated that we also want a peaceful solution to the conflict. We are committed to the negotiation process,” he added.
