UNHCR representatİves vİsİt Azerbaİjan’s Aghdam
APA. A delegation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Azerbaijan Office led by representative Alexander Novikau visited Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district on May 6.
The main purpose of the visit was to meet with representatives of local authorities and get information about humanitarian needs of the people temporarily displaced as a result of the recent incidents on the contact line of Armenian and Azerbaijani troops, APA correspondent reported.
The delegation first met with head of Aghdam district executive authority Ragub Mammadov. Then they visited IDP families affected by Armenian violence.
The delegation is also expected to visit Barda, Goranboy and Terter districts. During the visit, they will meet with representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Agency for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Areas, the Defense Ministry and the National Agency for Mine Action.
