Matthew Bryza: ‘Barack Obama and John Kerry must personally take part İn talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflİct’
“The 4 UN resolutions still remain unfulfilled as Armenian Diaspora organizations like the Armenian National Congress in the U.S. hold campaigns depicting themselves as a suffering victim and Azerbaijan as an aggressive country”.
APA reports quoting Vestnik Kavkaza that former U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza has made the above statement.
Noting that the OSCE Minsk Group doesn’t speed up the fulfillment of these resolutions, the former OSCE Minsk Group co-chair emphasized that the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council on the issues of Iraq and Libya have been initiated not solely by the UN, but the U.S. and France as well.
The diplomat remarked that the United States, France, and Russia who are working together within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group for the settlement of this conflict bear responsibility for the fulfillment of the resolutions.
Matthew Bryza also mentioned that the U.S. doesn’t insist on the withdrawal of military forces from the conflict zone or the fulfillment of the resolutions, adding that he expects the conflict would be resolved within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. He said U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry must personally take part in talks aimed at aiding the settlement of the conflict.
